Q: Who should I contact about the billing questions?

A: You can call our billing staff to answer any questions you may have if you are a new patient.

Q: Are you in my network?
A: Physical Therapy Renaissance is contracted with some medical insurance companies. We are in network with BCBS,  and Medicare.  Please call for more information.

Q: What if my insurance is not in your network?
A: We are happy to bill your insurance for out of network benefits and will work with you any way we can.

Q: What should I expect during the initial evaluation?
A: A licensed physical therapist will go over your patient history and perform a bio-mechanical evaluation of the problematic and surrounding areas. Of course every case is different and unique. Our evaluation will typically include range of motion, strength, neurological, joint mobility, gait and balance testing.

Q: What if I don’t have my doctor’s referral with me?
A: If you do not have your doctor’s referral, you can still undergo the evaluation without a problem. You will need a doctor’s referral for any treatment recommended after the initial evaluation. Under Illinois state law, a physical therapist can evaluate without a doctor’s referral.

Q: When should I arrive for my first appointment?
A: You should come 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to be able to fill out any paperwork and to go over initial details.

Q: How long will my therapy sessions be and what should I expect?
A: Your physical therapy sessions will last about 45 minutes to an hour. You should expect to be seen by the licensed physical therapist for the duration of the visit. Treatments normally include a manual therapy portion where the physical therapist will use their hand- on skills to assist the healing process. Depending on your condition, you will also be expected to perform exercises to help strengthen your body and work on correct posture.
